Terms & Conditions.
Last updated: 23/06/2026
By accessing and using this website (“umberandedge.com.au”) and purchasing any services offered by Umber & Edge (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). Please read them carefully before booking a consultation or engaging any of our services.
1. Business Details
Umber & Edge is an Australian business providing interior design and styling consultations and related services. All transactions are conducted in Australian Dollars (AUD).
2. Services Provided
We provide interior design consultations, available in person in Sydney or online anywhere in Australia. Each consultation includes:
- A one hour session assessing your space, your needs, and your priorities
- A written Interior Proposal following the session, including annotated floor plans and prioritised recommendations
- A curated shortlist of suggested purchases across a range of budgets, where relevant
Beyond the consultation, we may also provide further services on request, including sourcing and procurement of furniture, materials, and accessories, and styling of your space once items are received. These further services are optional, are not included as part of a standard consultation, and are scoped and agreed separately in writing before work commences.
Physical items (furniture, décor, etc.) are not supplied by Umber & Edge directly. Where we facilitate sourcing or procurement on your behalf, items remain purchases made with third-party retailers or suppliers, as set out in Section 7.
3. Bookings & Payments
Consultations are booked and paid for in full at the time of booking through our online booking platform.
For any further services beyond the consultation (including sourcing, procurement, styling, or bespoke projects), fees and payment terms will be agreed separately in writing before work commences.
Where we facilitate procurement on your behalf, you will be invoiced for the cost of items, plus any agreed service fee, as set out in your written agreement. Orders will not be placed until full and cleared funds are received.
Prices listed are subject to change without notice, but confirmed bookings will not be affected.
4. Refunds, Rescheduling & Cancellations
Change of Mind: As our consultations are a tailored professional service delivered at a fixed time, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds for change of mind, personal circumstances, or dissatisfaction with subjective elements of advice or design.
Rescheduling & Cancellations: You may reschedule or cancel a booked consultation by providing at least 2 business days' notice. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 2 business days' notice, or failure to attend a booked session, may forfeit the full consultation fee.
For further services agreed separately in writing (sourcing, procurement, styling, bespoke projects), cancellation terms will be set out in that agreement.
Consumer Rights: Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a remedy if services are not delivered with due care and skill, or if they fail to meet a consumer guarantee.
5. Client Responsibilities
By booking a consultation or engaging our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information regarding your space, measurements, budget, and preferences.
- Ensure you have the authority to make changes to the property being discussed.
- Attend booked sessions on time, and provide reasonable access to the property for in person consultations.
- Use any recommendations, shortlists, or sourcing suggestions responsibly; we are not liable for stock availability, price changes, or retailer terms.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, Interior Proposals, floor plans, documents, images, and materials provided by Umber & Edge remain our intellectual property. You are granted a personal, non-transferable license to use these materials solely for your own property. You may not reproduce, resell, or distribute them without prior written consent.
7. Third-Party Products & Services
Our recommendations and shortlists may reference third-party retailers and suppliers. We do not own, operate, or control these businesses, and we make no warranties regarding their products, services, or availability.
Where we facilitate sourcing or procurement on your behalf, we act as your agent in coordinating these purchases. We are not the seller of these items, and any purchase remains directly between you and the relevant retailer or supplier, subject to their own terms and conditions.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Umber & Edge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to:
- Delays in retailer or supplier delivery, or product availability
- Defects, faults, or quality issues in third-party products
- Costs associated with trades, contractors, or incorrect installation
- Losses resulting from reliance on consultation advice or design recommendations
Our liability is limited to the total amount paid for the specific service in question.
9. Disclaimer
Our services are provided on an “as is” basis. Advice, plans, and styling suggestions given during a consultation are recommendations only, and final implementation is at the client's discretion. Results may vary depending on factors outside our control, including supplier availability, the client's implementation, and any third-party work.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel bookings at our discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud, breach of these Terms, or inappropriate client behaviour. In such cases, refunds may be granted at our sole discretion.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page, and continued use of our Site or services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
